CHIHIROS - Doctor 5 Anti Algae Electrolysis with Smart Monitoring Temperature Latest 2025 Model

The Chihiros Doctor 5 Bluetooth is a water steriliser from the Chihiros Doctor series designed to suppress algae growth and reduce microbial load.

In addition to its well-known algae control function, it offers temperature monitoring capabilities, thus reducing the effort required for aquarium maintenance.

The integrated probe continuously measures and logs the water temperature within the MyChihiros app. An integrated alert function, either via a signal light on the display or a direct in-app notification, allows easy monitoring of the desired temperature range. All values are clearly displayed on the built-in screen, simplifying supervision. When used in combination with a compatible Chihiros heater, temperature adjustments can be made directly via the MyChihiros app.

Bluetooth connectivity allows for precise control and programming. The MyChihiros app enables remote real-time monitoring and adjustment of parameters such as light intensity and duration. Additionally, compatible Chihiros lighting systems, fertilisation units and other accessories can be managed via the app.

Installation is simple thanks to the magnetic connection between the electrode and the main unit. The electrode is attached to the aquarium glass using the included suction cup. Setup takes only a few minutes using the intuitive app interface, with no need for manual water parameter input.

Sterilisation is based on the principle of water electrolysis.

The controller applies voltage to the electrode, generating an electric field within a small space. This so-called decomposition voltage splits surrounding water (H2O) into H2 and O2, the basic elements of water: hydrogen and oxygen. Hydroxyl radicals (°OH) are also formed during this process. These radicals react with algal spores, bacteria or pollutants and neutralise or destroy them. Beneficial substrate bacteria and sessile filter bacteria remain unaffected, as the electric field is limited in range and only active intermittently. The use of the Chihiros Doctor 5 poses no risk to fish or invertebrates.

The electrode of the Chihiros Doctor 5 Bluetooth is a consumable component. For optimal performance, replacement is recommended at least every 6 months.
